CUA VIET is a Navy base (Navy Task Force Clearwater) that provides deep water off loading for supplies coming into Northern I Corps. 1/61 sometimes helped with base security and often used the area for operations across the river toward North Vietnam. There are always lots of different ships and boats to see and sometimes to ride.
