A collectors item. This is the patch or crest awarded those that
completed the Sniper School. Not many of them were given out. The school was
demanding. Facilities were provided by the 101st Airborne Div and located at
Camp Evans. The instructors came from the Army Marksmanship Detachment at Ft
Benning. The Officer in Charge was MAJ Flowers and one of the senior
instructors was M/SGT Harmon. M/SGT Harmon wore the "Presidents 100"
streamer over his shoulder patch. He had received this mark of distinction
for his performance at the Camp Perry National Rile Matches. With this caliber
of instructors the men that completed the training (In the first class that
was 11 out of 30.) and earned this patch were very, very good.
