Look into those eyes. Passed the shades you see eyes of the future. After Vietnam, Steve earned a commission in the USAF. 2nd Lt. Steven Wheat in training to be a Navigator and tell pilots which way to steer. After a few years a transfer into Intelligence and telling Navigators which way to tell the pilots to steer. Retired as a major in the USAF.

Best parts were when he worked in Intelligence. Group of officers stand around table and sort photos of airplanes, ships at sea and sometimes cities or towns. "Yep, that is one of ours." or "Nope, that is one of theirs."

And after a few hours, the official workday is completed. While an Airman shuffles all the photos together and then into a safe, the Officers are off to the club for a light meal. First, a cocktail, sloe gin fizz or cream de menthe frappe then sandwiches of watercress and a bowl of Vichyssoise. After a nap, it is time for a workout in the gym. Foosball or billiards followed by a sauna and a brisk massage. Now the married officers go home to their wives and sweethearts (sometimes the same woman) while the bachelors are off to the BOQ for a quick nap before visiting the base movie theater. Films-Noir are always popular, from Key Largo for action to Laura for romance to The Third Man for plot. An after show snack of whole-wheat crackers with Fromage a Raclette and off to bed.

Full night's sleep under a down comforter in preparation for another day of "Yeps" and "Nopes".
